SAMOA SWIM SERIES 2015

Welcome to SSS 2015 Swims. The Samoa Series is attracting a lot of attention among open water swimmers for the exciting programme of swims, official and unofficial, and all the extra activities around the Series. There is much more to the Samoa Series than the official “3 great swims in 3 days”. From the grand opening of the Series with a march through town behind the Samoa Police band leading the parade to the closure of the Series with the Prize Giving on a balmy South Pacific evening this is one holiday that you will look back on with very warm feelings. The big attraction in 2015 is the introduction of two new swims on the big island of Savai’i. For the first time two of the swims will be held in Faga and Manase with an overnight stay at Tanu Beach Fales and other accommodation on the north coast of Savai’i. The third and final swim is at the award winning Sinalei Reef Resort in Upolu. In addition to the three official swims there are the unofficial swims either side of the Series to cater for those who arrive before the series and those who stay after the series. There are also the School visits where swimmers and supporters get to exchange gifts with the local schools. This is a much valued part of the Series. Then there are the side-tours and the sense of community that develops amongst the travellers from far and wide as we travel together in the local buses to event sites. Lifelong friendships are formed in Samoa with fellow swimmers. We look forward to hosting you in 2014. The value does not end there – we are again putting on the Pacific Open Water Challenge (10km and 5km challenge – total time over two distances over two days) to precede the Series. For 2015 we have also bundled the Warrior Race together with the Swim Series (Half Iron Distance & Beat the Heat). This is to meet the demand by swimmers who want to participate in Samoa’s premier triathlon as well as in the Swim Series. This means that you can really get your money’s worth in one trip by participating in all three events in the space of 9 days: the Warrior Race, Pacific Open Water Challenge and the official Samoa Swim Series.

Official Swims
The Pacific Open Water Challenge was added to the schedule in the 2013 Series to cater for the serious long distance swimmers.
